    • Synopsis
    • Late 15th century, the great Atlantic expeditions are about to change the history.
The discovery of America will be the consequence of the naval technological development that took place in Las Atrazanas in Barcelona and which gave rise to the long mining tradition of the Mediterranean, in which the Crown of Aragón has centuries of naval activity.
The news of the discovery of a New World will travel very quickly throughout Europe creating interest in people. Because of this, the route of the Indies will become the desire of corsairs, pirates and travellers of all nationalities.
The discovery of America will be an unimaginable source of wealth for Catalan merchants and those from other parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Meanwhile the Spanish Crown will try to exploit it exclusively, designing a naval system never seen before.
The Fleet of the Indies becomes a pioneer, heavily protected regular merchant line that connected the metropolis with the colonies twice a year, becoming the umbilical cord that will unite Europe and America. This will be the beginning of the globalization process of our planet.
Meanwhile, the rest of the European countries will try for more than two centuries to break that monopoly and also gain access to those treasures. They will use all the options; smuggling, piracy or violent attacks on fleets.
Because of this new countries and cultures will appear on both sides of the Atlantic.
500 years later, some of the leading ships are still at the bottom of the sea. Ships with a lot of history are waiting to be found by the new generations of researchers if they manage to reach them before the treasure hunting companies.
