    • Synopsis
    • 1986, Santiago, Augusto Pinochet is losing his control's grip. In one of the city's poor neighbourhoods lives The Queen of the Corner, a lonely romantic who listens to "boleros" incessantly to drown the gunshot noises coming from the streets.
In comes Carlos, a handsome young man who befriends the old homosexual, using his house to store mysterious boxes and having clandestine meetings related to an attack on the dictator.
"My Tender Matador" is based in an extraordinary novel about revolution and forbidden love, through an exciting portrait of Chile during turbulent times. Funny and profoundly moving, Pedro Lemebel's prose offers an intimate window into Chile's history, while the worlds of Carlos and The Queen prepare to collide with the dictator's in the most fantastic and unexpected way.
