My partners follows the intertwining personal stories of three couples that are trying out having more intimate partners than one. For four years the camera captured the interactions and relationships in between these people - their happy and ecstatic moments as well as pain, doubts, jealousy, asking lots of questions but also having its funny moments.

- Synopsis
- Kay and Beate, Germans in their 50s, open their relationship to polyamory after 30 years of Christian marriage. Living in Berlin, in the centre of sexual liberty they at least seem to know how poly should work – parties in swingers clubs, visits to a poly therapist and several affairs happening all over Europe.
  
  In Estonia it's a different story altogether. Due to our Soviet background and the popularity of conservative parties it's very hard to break the stereotype of the traditional family model. Meeting the sensual Berliner Kay becomes a relief for Estonian housewife Marianne but a never-ending burden for her husband who is hospitalized due to an anxiety disorder.
  
  Riita and Taavi, a couple in their late 30s, have been struggling with a psychologically difficult on-off relationship for 10 long years. Hoping that sharing their love unconditionally with other partners could flame the spark again, they try out polyamory. Under the guidance of a renowned therapist they start off with a proper contract of dos and don'ts.
