    • The last thing Shawna Williams, a feisty 15-year-old schoolgirl wants, is to be on a class trip in a Maroon village in the hills. She feels there is nothing there that the internet can’t teach her and she remains glued to her phone throughout the entire trip. Her passionate history teacher Doreen Philips, tries and fails to peak the interest of the students on the historical tour. While on the tour, one of the tour guides, Miss Ena, develops a fondness for Shawna and encourages her to embrace her heritage, but the fondness is not reciprocated, and her message lost on Shawna whose only intention is to leave the ‘bush’ and return to the civilization of Kingston.

Frustrated, Doreen cuts the class trip early and heads back into Kingston. Unbeknownst to her, Shawna left the group to find better cellular reception and has been left in the village. Meanwhile, Lance Coley, a prominent politician and Member of Parliament for the Maroon village, has incriminating evidence on a thumb drive that Everton, the village simpleton steals so he can expose Coley's illegal operation.

While Shawna waits for a bus for Kingston, Everton, plants the thumb drive in her backpack so Lance will not find it and punish him. Lance’s goons now chase Shawna into the forest and she gets lost. To make matters worse, her phone battery is dying. She and Everton form an unlikely alliance to expose Lance. Without the aid of her cellphone Shawna has no way to map her way back to the village. She discovers the help of a mysterious friendly stranger Hezekiah who resembles and shares the name of her dead great grandfather. With her sharp wit and the help of Hezekiah, Shawna uses legendary traditions and her ancestors - spiritual and earthly to outsmart Lance and his goons, to help her out of the forest and save the village and herself.

Shawna’s interactions with her ethereal guide Hezekiah add an element of fantasy to the drama and adventure of Lost.
