    • Synopsis
    • On the bustling street in the historical town, Sanxia, stands an inconspicuous private detective agency run by a scruffy and yet highly professional detective and her naïve, inexperienced and yet enthusiastic handsome young assistant. When they collaborate on a mysterious murder, they gradually arouse people’s desire for truth, humanity and the analysis of one’s self and society…

Yan Su-Jun is a dashing young man. Growing up as a second-generation overseas Chinese, he recently came back to Taiwan. He has always been interested in searching for things, and the only books he reads are detective fictions. Regarding Sherlock Holmes as his role model, Yan longs to be a “detective” so he can put all he has read into practice…

One day, dressed in a sleek suit, he arrives at “Jealousy Private Detective Agency & Life Fortune-Teller” in his Ferrari for the job interview. Du Chi-Ling, an incredibly acute observer of life in general, is the founder and owner of the agency. Yan could never expect that in the first two weeks as Du’s assistant, he would spend all his time looking for pets or something equally trivial. As for Du herself, she seems to be more of a fortune-teller than a detective. Yan feels so disheartened and begins to doubt his career as a detective. Just when he is about to give up, a murder case is entrusted to the pair. A client named Song Yi commissions them to investigate his wife’s death for the tragedy that his wife, Lin Yu-Min, was found poisoned to death at their home.

Taking Yan with her, Du begins to look into every possible lead, including the hidden backgrounds of the Song and Lin families. Lin, the victim, had an ex-husband while Song, the victim’s husband, has a former as well a current mistress. Is money or love the motive for this crime? Where did the perpetrator procure the poison? Can Du and Yan eventually solve the case?
