    • Synopsis
    • 23 year-old Jesús López unexpectedly dies in a motorbike accident. His small home village is shocked with his death: What will become of his parents, friends and fiancée and the void he leaves behind?
Abel, his cousin, is a few years younger than him. He is a late teenager, unaware of his identity and his future. He applied to pursue an education in Santa Fe head of province but flunked the admission exam. Irene and Cacho, Jesús’ parents, invite their nephew Abel to come stay at their home with them for a few days. To avoid being tactless, but also hiding a wish to leave his paternal home, Abel accepts the offer. Now he sleeps in Jesús’ bed, plays with his dog Nippur, keeps Irene company through her sleepless nights, and wears his dead cousin’s clothes, leading him to find himself standing where his late cousin used to be, now an empty space.
Abel becomes close with Jesús’ friends. He shares sunsets by the creek, nights at the pub, getting drunk together. Abel meets Azul, Jesús’ former fiancée, initiating a love affair.
At first, they all accept the idea of a muletto, a car racing term for a spare car to stand-in in case of failure of the main one. Now, in spite of Abel’s best effort, an awkwardness sprouts around him.
However, Abel is not willing to give in his stolen identity, and his physical similarity with Jesús becomes more and more sordid, to the degree of exchanging bodies, as if he was posessed by his dead cousin’s spirit.
Inside his cousin’s snatched body, Abel returns to the village. At the racing track, Jesús’ car awaits for him, the last challenge before the transformation is finally fulfilled.
