- Synopsis
- “Involuntary” is a tragic comedy or a comic tragedy. The film consists of five chronological stories. Five different perspectives about the relentless powers of a group over the individual. Each story stands alone, yet strengthens and cross-fertilises the others, their perspectives and the overall message, driving the action forward. Through Ruben Östlund’s visual storytelling, using authentic, well-choreographed, one-shot scenes, the viewer becomes a voyeur, an involuntary witness to the events in the film.
