    • Synopsis
    • The director of the travel segment of an animal TV program, Kawahara (Ken MITSUISHI), and the Assistant Director, Mizuki (Riko NARUMI), need a dog for their program, but lack of funding forces them to choose an unskilled glutton of a dog, 'Masao.' They select Matsumoto (Shingo KATORI), an unpopular comedian with time on his hands, as their host. He is not aware that the star of the program will be a dog...
At first Matsumoto is enthusiastic about the role, but becomes discouraged when he realizes that the star is a dog. Masao won't obey anything Matsumoto says and simply drags him around. Matsumoto desperately tries to find success individually as a comic, but his efforts are in vain. He not only loses his comedy partner, but also gets dumped by the girlfriend he was living with, Satomi (Ryoko HIROSUE).
Nothing is going well, but Matsumoto refuses to give up on his dream of being a comedian, and he desperately keeps on trying. Then one day Matsumoto is injured when he really gets carried away shooting on location, and the first one that comes running to his rescue is Masao! The lonely Matsumoto decides to unite with Masao, and the man and dog duo is formed.
Gradually the criticisms and complaints made by the audience to the TV program begin to change to positive feedback, and it's realized that the program is riding a wave of popularity. Matsumoto and Masao receive love letters from all over Japan, but just when they are at the height of their national popularity, Masao's physical condition suddenly deteriorates. When he's examined by a veterinarian, it's discovered that Masao has an incurable fatal illness...
Matsumoto asks himself what he has actually done so far for Masao? The answer that he gives himself leads to a decision. Matsumoto wants for Masao to marry Dian, the black Labrador that he'd fallen mutually in love with on location, so that Masao can live his remaining days in happiness.
Just at this time Matsumoto hears a rumor that his ex-girlfriend, who has returned to her hometown, will marry. He makes the most momentous decision of his entire life...
      Will Masao find true happiness?
And in the end, what does Matsumoto do?!
