    • Synopsis
    • In 2016, in order to avoid traffic jams for the Francophonie Summit delegations, a road was built in front of Ly's hamlet in Bomb Bay. Since then, Ly, like all the peasants of the plain, has watched helplessly as "his" rice fields have been appropriated by the two Presidents and their successive development projects, but also by mysterious and influential investors. In this context, Hasina tries to convince her father to favour agro-ecology rather than practices from abroad. She also wants to awaken the creativity and critical spirit of the village children thanks to the support of famous artists and the complicity of the director.
Journalists are invited to the performance of this puppet show staged by the village children and by Gégé, an elderly actor, known to all, who was himself a victim of land grabbing. This show, an allegory of the inexorable advance of the city, offers the last words to the peasant puppet and his definition of the peasant soul in a speech in the form of oratory. From "manipulated", the villagers become, during the show, those who pull the strings.
