Synopsis
"Zara” is about the state of people who are forced to live their exile as an outer event, but also as an inner destiny. This condition involves several time levels: a past which is lost, a present which is ruined, and a future which is colored with hope. Around the village of Zara, an opened empty plain stretches out, which is only made of abandoned places. Here, the characters are searching for what they have lost: their lost letters, lost childhoods, their lost house, friends and parents, their lost children… The village of Zara constitutes the fulcrum of a quest for a safe place – research which gives rise to the unfolding of the remembered and the dreamed within the imaginary sphere. In Zara, the Cem is celebrated – as a celebration of the quest for hope.
