    • Synopsis
    • Rod Browning’s dream of pitching in the Bigs is shattered when his fear of flying leads to taking too many anti-anxiety meds and missing his flight to a last-minute call-up. Now middle-aged and unemployed, Rod projects his baseball aspirations on his teenage son while ignoring his daughter. Meanwhile, his wife, Simone, is tired of her and her daughter getting benched and decides she’s done supporting the family with her amateur adult subscription channel. When Rod convinces his best friend, Alex, to take their sons on a cross-country road trip to get them recruited by a top college baseball team, Simone gives Rod one week to return for their daughter’s birthday. That proves challenging when Rod and Alex lose the boys at a frat party, and they get waylaid by a hospital visit, car trouble, and a stray pit bull. As they frantically try to get home, Joe reveals he’s quitting baseball and is gay. In an epiphany, Rod realizes the only way to save his family is to face his fear of flying. Ultimately, Rod finally overcomes his fear of flying with a heroic last-ditch effort to get home for his daughter’s birthday by skydiving out of a plane and bringing her the dog she always wanted, and he said she couldn’t have.
