Eight-year-old Dorothy lives in a metropolitan city. Her parents work too much and gradually grow apart. Dorothy, left to herself, becomes over-mature and sceptical. When her beloved grandma Rosalia stops answering her calls, Mum, Dad and Dorothy decide to visit her in a village far away. Upon their arrival, they discover that Grandma died in a shed fire. Dorothy cannot believe in such a strange accident, especially when she soon finds out that Grandma might have been a village witch doctor and had secret dealings with forest demons. She also overhears that a burned witch doesn’t entirely die but takes another form of an animal or a tree. Dorothy sets out on her own private investigation.
