    • Synopsis
    • The Summer of 1946. Thousands of parentless kids are fighting for survival in East Prussia, among them 14-year old Hans (Levin Liam). Before his mother (Jördis Triebel) died, she gave him one last task: to head to Lithuania with his little brother Fritzchen (Patrick Lorenczat), where, supposedly, there were still farmers willing to take in German kids. Yet in the wilderness, the brothers are caught between battle lines and lose each other. As his search for Fritzchen turns into an odyssey, Hans has to fight against hunger, weather and illness in a foreign land.

Director Rick Ostermann frames the intense story of WOLF CHILDREN with impressive shots of nature. These children had lost everything after World War II and were fighting for survival. Words can hardly convey what they went through, but an incredibly moving performance by two young actors not only captures it well, but simultaneously raises awareness of the millions of children who are innocent victims of war and expulsions today.
