- Synopsis
- When Murat arrives on the Island of Gökçeada (Imbros) for his photography exhibition he learns that Madame Stilyani is dead. He has been working with her for two years on his exhibition; he recorded Madame Stilyani’s voice and photographed her. Eleni, Madame Stilyani’s granddaughter who lives in France and is the sole inheritor, is also on the island to handle the funeral arrangements. Here, she meets Murat just as she’s thinking this is perhaps her last visit to the island. Impressed by Murat’s project, Eleni has an epiphany which propels her on a mythic and spiritual journey towards her historical roots .
