- Synopsis
- Two inseparable childhood friends become partners in a successful event company in Lagos, through which they meet their respective husbands. Oriyomi very soon gives birth to a girl. Her husband, and his family, are desperate for a boy, and on learning that her subsequent pregnancy is actually another girl, Oriyomi is too distressed to tell them. Ifelolu, having lost her brother to an undisclosed illness as a young child, resists motherhood, despite her husband's pressure. But finding herself unexpectedly pregnant at the same time, and with a boy, the women hatch a shocking plan to switch babies, because after all, they always plan to be close. Except that Oriyomi’s ’son’ starts to show symptoms of a rare inherited disease, and as tragedy unfolds, the women's friendship implodes and their secret is exposed, and, with accusations of gross betrayal, find themselves fighting in court to save their families
