    • Synopsis
    • The film tells the life of Reema - a transgender woman working in the Well of Death - a travelling circus attraction in Pakistan. It’s about the relationship with her boyfriend, her dreams and her struggles,

It starts as a Tale, telling the childhood of Reema - from the far north of the Himalayas, through the village where Reema was born and blessed by transgenders to her childhood in a transgender community. One day little Reema runs into the cinema, a very old cine-ma, where on the big screen she sees love for the first time. The cinema becomes her world of dreams and a transition tool for the director between Reema’s childhood and her present life.

From the very fictionalised dream like prolog we enter we observe in a very realistic way the life of the community of the well of death and the lunapark where Reema leads her present life. Reema is with her boyfriend Asif, soon they will move to the next destination with the hole troupe.
Her life is simple but colourful, filled with music and dance, every town is different, every show she gives before the stunts enter the well of death is different. Reema and Asif tell their story, their love story, which seems so surreal in the Muslim world of Pakistan. Ree-ma often dreams, and with her dreams she goes back to her memories, to her childhood to the cinema. The film guide us like in a waking dream of Reema and her friends from the troupe life. The other transgender friends who share their life experiences with her.
Finally Reema betrays Asif, who angry leaves, Reema is left alone and can’t take it. She encounters a new boyfriend, but she can’t stop thinking of Asif who comes bak in her dreams. Her dreams become more and more intense, she call her childhood, and little Reema who is present in the Old Cinema helps her to change the way of her events… Reema’s life is like a movie… Reema decides to learn how to ride a bike to go to the cin-ema, where she can control her life. With the help of little Reema and herself she creats a reality where Asif joins them, forgives her and their life ca go on together.
This surreal tale is feeling a story about an impossible love and an impossible life in the musli country of Pakistan, it tells how much more colourful the life of a transgender in such a community is, how much more dreamalike it is…
This story is also a tribute to cinema, which just like the well of death has it’s roots from festivals and circuces, and takes us to a dreams This story begins and ends in the cine-ma, a cinema in which the time hasstopped.
