- Saeki Teruhiko (Teru) is a boxer who is the most likely candidate for the Rookie of the Year Championship, and Tomohara Tsutomu (Ben) is a boxer who has a good memory by nature but is not good at communication. They grew up like brothers in the same apartment complex. Ben was happy just shadowboxing, imitating Teru.
  For him, Teru was an “admirer” and an “absolute presence”. However, Teru was defeated by Kitazawa in the Rookie of the Year Championship. After that, though, Teru acted as if nothing had happened, however, his life became rough and he started to drift away from boxing. Ben feels a strong sense of loss and anxiety at the sight of Tell. “Teru has changed with just one defeat.” Unable to bear it any longer, Ben took Teru's boxing gloves one day and began to walk away, muttering “Teru never loses,” and vowing revenge against his old enemy, Kitazawa.
