  In the midst of a dull suburban life, high school teacher Joshua Polansky is losing touch. His mother is dying, his wife is swinging and his autistic brother can only connect through the game of baseball. As the personal, professional and familial spheres of Joshua’s life spin out of control, he embraces a childlike state where his failing marriage is replaced with the affection of a former student. Work becomes a minefield when he unintentionally garners the attention of his quick-witted colleague’s crush. Joshua’s existential crisis leads to a series of misadventures that force him to reconsider not only his decisions, but the subtle and profound ways that people affect one another.
