    • Synopsis
    • It’s the rainy season in the Tibetan highlands. It’s good for the crops, but bad for Wangdrak. He’s the only boy in the village who doesn’t own a pair of rain boots – and the other children tease him about it. His father has no money to buy any boots, plus he has other worries as he is embroiled in a dispute with other farmers. Secretly, Wangdrak’s mother swaps a goat skin for a new pair of light blue boots. Things become more complicated when his father, preparing to harvest his barley, calls on a local shaman to ward off potentially damaging rain. But Wangdrak wants just the opposite: he wants it to rain so he can show off his new boots. And he and his best friend Lhamo have a plan… Set in the vast mountains of Tibet, this film affectionately depicts the story of a young boy’s dreams constrained by the traditional values of rural life.
