    • Synopsis
    • Walachai in Old German means a faraway place, lost in time. The inhabitants
      of this rural community in southern Brazil communicate through an ancient German
      dialect and do not know the Germany of their predecessors. They are all Brazilian and
      identify themselves as such. The documentary Walachai is about an unusual and
      unique place. It presents contemporary Brazilian urban audiences with a different
      lifestyle, unveiling a corner of Brazil yet to be discovered.
