- The Great East Earthquake hit the northan part of Japan in 2011 and tsunami took the entire family of Haru when she was 9 years old. Now she is 17 and lives with her aunt in Hiroshima, far away from her home, Otsuchi. After coming home from school one day, she finds her aunt lying on the kitchen floor unconcios. Looking at her aunt in hospital still in coma, Haru suddenly seized with uneasy feeling that she would lose everyone she loves and urged to set out as a hitchhiker for Otsuchi.
