    • Synopsis
    • Jesus mostly lives in the shadows – he pales in comparison to his brazen workmates and flies under the radar when doing the hair and makeup for a troupe of drag performers at a ramshackle Havana club. But he dreams of the spotlight and under the tutelage of the grande dame Mama, he becomes a performer himself and is empowered onstage as his drag persona, Viva. However, Jesus’s life takes an unexpected turn when his estranged father, former boxer Angel appears, fresh out of prison. He’s not thrilled about Jesus’s career choice and Jesus, who has always longed for a parent to be present, finds himself having to choose between his joy and his dad.
