- Synopsis
- Vigdís Finnbogadóttir is a well-behaved perfectionist who wants to rebel against the norm. She is an ordinary girl and longs to have the same opportunities as her younger brother. The series is about this unique woman, her triumphs and sorrows, insecurities and self-doubts and her remarkably courageous decision to run for president in 1980 when equal rights were still far out of reach. A woman running for president was already shocking, but the fact that she was a single mother made it almost unimaginable. Vigdis carries the aura of a winner, someone that has always succeeded without difficulty but the opposite is true in Vigdis’ life. Despite endless obstacles she never stops dreaming of a brighter future.
