    • Synopsis
    • 11-year-old nomad boy AMRA and his family live in a yurt in the middle of the Gobi Desert. While mother ZAYA takes care of the animals, father ERDENE sells homemade cheese at the market. However, the nomadic life of the family is at risk. Mining companies use their excavators to dig holes in the steppe, looking for gold. While Erdene seeks solidarity with other nomads in order to fight for a renaturation law, Zaya is convinced that they have already lost the struggle. She wants to accept the compensation offered by the mining company and leave the native steppe.
Meanwhile, Amra is occupied with completely different matters. He and his cousin Bataa are excited about the popular television show, Voice of Mongolia. Amra’s big dream is to participate in the talent competition and sing the tune "Veins of the World", a song about peaceful interaction with nature.
After Erdene’s sudden death during a car accident, the family sinks into deep sadness. The last resistance against the mining companies seems broken and the family is under pressure to move out of their yurt. Zaya would be willing to leave her homeland in the desert behind, but Amra feels responsible to take over the role of his father and fight for their live in the desert. Mother and son keep drifting apart. Only when Amra is chosen to perform his song in the next round of Voice of Mongolia, new hope emerges.
