    • Synopsis
    • Vanguard is an internationally-renowned, privately-owned high-tech security agency, founded by Tang Huanting (Jackie Chan). It adheres to the valorous principles of retainer warriors throughout Chinese history, with a strong sense of justice and a determination to honour all promises.

      In London’s Chinatown, during the Lunar New Year, thousands of locals and tourists watch the dragon dance celebrations. When Vanguard client Qin Guoli (Jackson Lou) is kidnapped in the midst, Vanguard members Lei Zhenyu (Yang Yang), Zhang Kaixuan (Ai Lun) and Miya (Mu Qimiya) are dispatched to London. After a series of fierce fights with the kidnappers, they rescue Qin.

      Qin once worked for Middle Eastern tycoon Massym, who he later learnt was the leader of an aggressive militia. When Massym was killed in a military operation, his son Omar suspected Qin of betrayal and ordered his kidnapping. Once he is rescued by Vanguard, Qin asks for the protection of his daughter Fareeda (Xu Ruohan), who volunteers at a wildlife conservatory in Africa.

      Tang leads a group of Vanguard members to Africa to protect Fareeda where they are caught up in a fierce firefight with Omar’s mercenaries and heavily-armed illegal wildlife hunters. Vanguard members escape into the forest with Fareeda, where Fareeda drives her amphibious vehicle into the powerful, fast-moving rapids. Vanguard backup arrives by helicopter and successfully rescues Tang and Miya. But Fareeda and Lei fall into the hands of the enemy!

      Vanguard uses their advanced tech to locate the hostages. They are being kept at the base of Omar’s heavily guarded fort in India. Vanguard sends a group of highly trained elite operatives to save them. They successfully rescue Lei and Fareeda just before a bomb detonates. During their retreat. Zhang is buried within the ruins of a bombarded building. Lei risks his own life to rescue Zhang and carries him back. As the team flees, Zhang still shows no signs of life. But Lei refuses to give up on him. Miraculously, Zhang starts breathing again! However, Qin has been captured.

      Qin brings Omar to Dubai, where his father’s gold is hidden. Tang arranges a partnership with the police of Dubai, using information that Qin has shared with Vanguard to set traps for Omar’s gang. Omar has inherited several gold-plated sportscars. He trades two of them with an arms dealer in exchange for missile codes. His target is the gigantic U.S. aircraft carrier docked at the Dubai harbour.

      Omar’s team and his fleet of gold vehicles create chaos on the streets of Dubai. Eventually they are trapped at an aquarium inside Dubai Mall. Omar and his men are defeated by Vanguard and arrested by the Dubai police. Completing their most dangerous mission yet, Vanguard’s legend continues to grow.
