    • Synopsis
    • After years of teaching in a university, Sam, a struggling filmmaker, now happily works as a media teacher at a Senior High School. He would traverse the unforgiving commute every morning with her girlfriend Anna, a Literature teacher at the same school. After his classes, he would find himself doing course works for his Master’s Degree and freelance work opportunities to make ends meet.

Isa, on one hand, is a writer for a PR company in one of the offices that reside in the old central business district. Her childhood best friend and boyfriend Frank, a pilot in training for a private plane company, decides to go with her to the US as both of
them received a job offer in a publication in the US. They leave everything behind before the year ends.

Both Sam and Isa are former lovers turned friends, and after five years of being apart, they got together in a public event. They found out of each other’s relationships and get to meet their partners. Isa becomes friends with Anna as they share the same passion for writing. Sam, on the other hand, has known Frank when he was still teaching at the University- and when he entered into a relationship with Isa, his former student.

Unknowing to them, the encounter would cast the couples to drift off into their own various pits of pain as they attempt to figure out who they are in their respective relationships. Anna tries to fit in in Isa’s shoes. Isa tries to fit in in Anna’s shoes. Sam tries to fit in in Frank’s shoes. Frank tries to fit in in Sam’s shoes. They silently dwell in the past while dealing with their personal issues in the present. The next encounters build up to confrontations as the apparent old flame between Sam and Isa sparks.

On Christmas day, Isa and Sam decides to figure out an unfinished, dysfunctional relationship but will find out that they just cannot be together given their respective circumstances. What’s lost is found and what’s found is lost. They will learn to place themselves in corners; move on their own orbits, and look at the unfairness of being left out in a world designed for everyone else but themselves.

At the end of the year, Sam, Isa, Anna and Frank will attempt to place themselves in a world not for them to accept, expect to accept and learn to accept. At the airport on New Year’s Eve, Isa awaits to board the next plane to Los Angeles alone after Frank finds out about the encounter and his decision not to push thru. Sam, on the other hand, welcomes the New Year hoping that him and Anna can go back to the start.
