- Synopsis
- When her husband and son are killed in front of her, Esmeralda (38) loses the motivation to live. But when she is about to set her- self on fire, on the yacht where they died, she has a vision of her own death and her deceased son, asking her not to do it. This motivates her to continue living; and an object belonging to her defunct husband gives her an objective: to discover who and why murdered her family.
  In the town of La Alameda (Colombia), Esmeralda follows the trail of the last steps of her Canadian husband, a senior executive in a multinational gold mining company. In this way, she discovers his secrets and slowly uncovers the layers of something more atro- cious: a corrupt and violent society; and a mining company allied with criminal groups, that extort and pollute the waters bringing death to the community.
  As Esmeralda gets closer to the truth, she puts her life at risk, and she will have to face the victimizers directly and expose their secrets to find justice.
