Synopsis
A journey through the personal memories of the Jewish refugees that escaped the Second World War by way of Portugal. Upon their arrival, did they find a dictatorship, or a neutral country? Whichever the case, ours was a port of harbor. Thanks to archive footage, places like Caldas da Rainha, Estoril and Lisbon of the 1940's come to life today as visual metaphors of hope. Like waiting rooms flooded with light, the refugees waited there, resting their gazes upon the endless ocean that would one day sail them to freedom. But where are they now? What are their memories of their escape and the city of Lisbon? What are their recollections of the people that gave them safe haven?
