Txai is a film that docum ents the story of a trip, undertaken in the late 80s by a group of anthropologists and artists to the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The destination was the Ashaninka Territory, located in the border between Brazil and Peru. The main objective of the trip was to strengthen the union between indigenous people and rubber tappers in defense of the preservation of the forest. Today, more than 30 years after this union of forest peoples, the film Txai proposes to retrace the 1989 trip with a large part of the members of the original mission, inserting archival m aterial to contextualize the changes, progress and defeats in the struggles of those fighting to preserve the forest and its original peoples.
