- To mark the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, this cinematic doc offers spectators, for the first time ever, an extraordinary opportunity to meet the Pharaoh, and relive unique moments on the big screen also following exclusive coverage of how 150 items from among his treasures, were moved to become part of the biggest international exhibition ever dedicated to the Golden Boy. “Please watch them, before they return back to Egypt forever,” said Mostafa Waziry, secretary general of the Egyptian Ministry of State for Antiquities. The documentary develops as a continuous dialogue of cross-references between the far-off past when the pharaoh was alive, more recent times which saw the discovery of his Tomb by archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922, and the present day with exhibitions and studies dedicated to Ancient Egypt.

  It was November 26th 1922 when, after making a small hole in the plaster over an underground doorway, British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter, first set eyes on the burial chamber in the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun. The room, piled with objects, was still practically intact and would soon become legend.
  
  “Can you see anything?” – asked Lord Carnarvon, amateur archaeologist and the financial backer of the expedition.
  “Yes, wonderful things” – said Carter.
  Tutankhamun is a name that has become part of the collective imagination worldwide: for all people it evokes everything that is most imposing and mysterious about Ancient Egypt, its pyramids, the legend of the Pharaoh’s curse. Few people, however, associate his celebrity status with a combination of unique events and the stubbornness of the British archaeologist who discovered the tomb, in the years when methods of mass communication were just beginning to completely revolutionize our lives.
  This documentary film retraces this incredible story and offers exclusive access to some of the places which continue to pulsate with its history. This is how we discover the Egyptian Museum In Cairo and see the objects from the treasures close up, just a few centimetres away. We will accompany the experts during restoration work and while the objects are being moved, as well as travel with them on the road to Los Angeles, Paris and London.
  Thanks to one of the most extensive private photo archives in the world dedicated to the treasures, as well as original photo and film materials from New York’s Metropolitan Museum and the Griffith Institute in Oxford, audiences will be able to experience the most moving moments of Carter’s discovery, the impact made by the famous Curse of Tutankhamun, the few facts known about the young Pharaoh’s life: a boy raised to the rank of demigod, who died prematurely at the age of nineteen and was laid to rest in a makeshift tomb, to undertake the journey to eternal life along with his rich burial treasures.
