    • Synopsis
    • This is the tale of four small-time French gamblers: the Greek, who’s an osteopath; Fifi, who lives with his concierge mother; Fortuné, a West Indian who works in accounts for a big company; and Freddy, the high-roller. They are all regulars in Parisian gambling bar, Le Balto. They are sick of losing their hard-earned pay and would like to stop playing the gee-gees... But as all die-hard gamblers say, you win some you lose some. They cling to every loser’s belief that the big win is always just around the corner. Then one day, their break finally comes, in the shape of the sharp-suited legendary gamer known on all the race tracks and by all the bookies as “the white wolf” – and known to the gaming police as Monsieur Paul. This gentleman gambler offers them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy a champion racehorse, Torpille. Despite the thoroughbred turning out to be an old nag, our four hopefuls are undeterred and agree to buy one leg
each. The Balto gang join the ranks of the moneyed owners, sharing the insider tips of the billionaires from Auteuil and Monte Carlo.
Will they finally win, or will they lose everything including their friendship? The horses are under starter’s orders…
