    • Synopsis
    • Sitting deep beneath your feet, the single scariest room in the house is the cellar, if you’re unlucky enough to have one? It’s scarier still when the cellar shouldn’t really be there!

Liza Tasker discovers that the house she’s just moved into has just such a cellar and sees it rather than a frightening find as an ideal opportunity, an opportunity to dispose of the body of her husband she’s brutally murdered with her boyfriend.

Liza, a publisher’s assistant, has been tasked with seeking out stories for a fictional murder anthology. With the deadline upon her she discovers that several murder stories, written on sheets of skin, are pasted on the cellar’s stair walls. Elated at the providential find she proceeds to read the stories seated on the cellar staircase, alone, in the dark.

The tales unfold and the first ‘Shower curtains,’ tells of Laura, an angry author, who finds herself trapped in a shower cubicle with water filling the sealed space and realises that her husband has set the trap to kill her, but her husband is also trapped.

The second story follows Anton, hiding out to avoid a beating, or worse, in his despised sister, Gretchen’s house, He finds his concealment unbearable, tending to her house and her troublesome dog as well. Staying in her cellar he plots to dispose of her but finds his plans dashed when he becomes trapped beneath some shelving and a burst pipe begins flooding the cellar. His only hope of survival is Gretchen!

The third story introduces Andrew, a thief, who discovers a human hand in a handbag he’s just stolen. He takes advantage of the situation and the owner of the handbag but the lady soon takes advantage of Andrew and we discover the severed hand isn’t the only one!

The fourth story involves a policeman on night patrol who is stopped by a man who claims to have trapped a creature in his basement, a savage creature he claims is a Gremlin!

Liza, meanwhile, is awaiting the delivery of her husband’s body and discovers the fourth story is the last and the cellar collects murderers, including her boyfriend.

The murder anthology is published, including stories from the cellar, but those waiting for a signed copy are not fans...
