- Synopsis
- Pending additional production in Italy for completion. Defined by the Director as a "film trippante", Touched by Duse begins as a hybrid documentary about two women seeking to separate the legend from the flesh of the mother of modern acting, Eleonora Duse. In vulnerable moments with actors like Ellen Burstyn, Paul Sorvino and Richard Thomas, impressions of her become the narrative as the film transforms. In a tragic inner thread of the story, an elderly actor, Martin Waldron, probably the last remaining person to have been in the physical presence of Duse describes it best: "something happens when you are touched by Duse."
