    • Synopsis
    • In the heat stricken afternoon nap, in the suburbs of the Northeastern region of Argentina, a group of women relentlessly kick a ball about in a green outdoor court. Meanwhile, they are bombarded with local political propaganda.
The women belong to “The Indomitable” soccer team, and they await the uncertain arrival of the rest of the teams and the organizers of the local tournament they were called upon.
The Indomitable team is led by fourty-something-year-old coach Cacho, who gives it all he’s got to get the players to pay attention to him, attend training, or memorize new tactics.
Slowly, in this borough of unpaved streets and loose horses, several groups of women begin to gather.
The prospect of the tournament and the promise of a trip for the winning team, makes gathering enough players to form a team, and getting the best players, a goal in itself. Meanwhile, the wait during the long afternoon siesta drags on, providing just the right circumstances for the women of the arriving teams to meet one another.
Small everyday accounts spin-off the women’s efforts to play soccer, with arguments arising, men disturbing the game, flourishing love stories and seduction on the court. It all comes together to form the singular universe of soccer in the northeast of Argentina, with its own subtle codes and pace.
The soccer tournament just happens to be a pretext of a political campaign. At times, this forces the women to interact with the announcements of the organizer, who will not stop talking about the political party of Mayor “Lito” Araujo
A picture of contemporary life is made up by the inflatable castles set up to the side of the court, the tables laid out with chocolate milk, the Mayor popping by to give away t-shirts to all the players and even a “Tournament Queen” contest. Here, sexuality, politics and soccer become intertwined.
The players set themselves small challenges that help them forget the surroundings, whilst life continues to pass. One jumps up over and over again to reach the crossbar; another balances the ball on her instep; another one performs tricks with the ball… What is it then, the reason we get together to play soccer?

The women await the beginning of the games with uncertainty, and the threat of imminent rain makes them fret. The tournament - as an excuse for a local political campaign- and the women’s desire to play, form the settings of this story where diverse women meet in their shared passion for soccer, and where anything may happen.
