    • Synopsis
    • Tigerheart is a story about a boy who wants to stop the time. Amos, 10, wants to stop the time because he’s skipping school, he’s in the third grade and still unable to read, and he’s afraid that his father will find out. This leads him into telling a series of lies. Everytime Amos tells another lie, a Monster appears in his room. The Monster gradually grows as the lies get bigger.
Benjamin is Amos’s best friend, class mate and neighbour. He’s a very talented boy who has lost his dad and feels thus very close not only to Amos but also to Amos’s dad. The common hobby between the boys and Amos’s dad is space, and especially Black Holes, because nobody really knows what they are.
One evening Amos waits eagerly for his dad to take him and Benjamin up on the roof with his granddad’s space telescope. Once again his father can’t make it because he has to leave for work. Amos lies to Benjamin that they can’t go up on the roof together that night. Amos will go alone with his dad, because his dad is too tired to spend time with other kids like Benjamin. Benjamin, the fatherless friend bursts into tears.
Later that night, on his own and against the rules, Amos takes his granddad’s ancient space telescope up on the roof, drops it by mistakes and breaks it. His father comes home and is furious.
Amos has now betrayed both his dad and Benjamin.
Now the Monster appears in its full form. He tells Amos that if he gives the Monster an Indian Ganesh-box – a beloved family treasure, symbol of love and innocence – the Monster will help him stop the time. Being so angry at his dad, Amos gives the Monster the Ganesh-box and time stops. Everything and everybody in the world stops.
Only Amos is alive – completely alone in the world.
The third act of the film is a space adventure. The fight against the Black Hole. After being alone in the world for couple of minutes, Amos realises that he’s made a terrible mistake and decides to follow the Monster into the space, and to the Black Hole – the Monster’s boss.
Inside the Black Hole Amos understands that it is only the fire of truth that can set him free. In the Ganesh-box, there’s one single match. Amos lights it up and the fire of truth destroys the Black Hole.
