    • Synopsis
    • Das, a young man from the villages outside Pondicherry, seems to be leading a double life. Before the sun rises, he tends to his cows & milks them, and delivers milk on bicycle to far-flung outlets. And by noon he takes a bus that transports him across worlds from his rural life, to the glistening town of Pondicherry where he is an actor in a Theatre group.

Das' best friend Guna used to play the parai (percussion at funerals). Guna now plays music on-stage for the Play. They share a frictional past that has left Guna feeling like an abandoned friend replaced by Das’s evolving culturally hybridized lifestyle.

The Play’s director Bhoomi's inexperienced struggle for perfection leads to intense outbursts and strained relationships on the stage for the group. Meanwhile, Das is torn between his work as an actor at the Theatre and an ailing calf back home.
