- Synopsis
- To save his family business from bankruptcy, Pierre, a young happily-married cabinet maker, takes on robbing post-offices and banks. On one such escapade, he falls in love with a post-office employee, Nelly, who becomes his tough minded and pragmatic accomplice. She comes to be as much a part of Pierre's life as his loving wife is, but the latter, strong enough to handle her husband 's adultery, cannot cope with the circumscribed emotional role his split identity forces her to play.
