- Synopsis
- A woman's scream resounds through the Rakuhoku Medical University's laboratory tower, triggering a mystery. A virology researcher is found dead. According to a witness, she said, "Help! Don't kill me!" before falling from the rooftop. Mariko Sakaki, a forensic analyst, along with her S.R.I. colleagues and the medical examiner, Dr. Kazeoka, suspect that it's murder. But as they find no evidence to prove their theories, the death is processed as an accident despite the fact that things just don't add up.
  
  Kyoto Police Investigator Domon also suspects that it was not just an accident. He learns that the victim visited Wataru Kagano, a microbiologist at Teisei University in Tokyo, regarding his Diet Bacteria research. Domon goes looking for a researcher who'd accompanied the victim, but he falls to his death before he is found. In the meantime, researchers overseas die in the same manner, making it an impossible puzzle for the investigators to solve.
  
  A string of clues leads the analysts to their archenemy!
  But he uses the media to strike back at Mariko and her colleagues!
  
  Mariko and the S.R.I. analysts work around the clock to solve the worldwide mystery. Through analysis, Yuya Usami finds out that Diet Bacteria played a role in every case, making Kagano their prime suspect. But Kagano, a brilliant scientist, is protected by an airtight alibi. He taunts and challenges the investigators leaving Mariko with no proof. If she can't solve the mystery, it will lead to a worldwide disaster...
  
  No modern technology can crack this mystery, so Mariko has no option but to put herself on the line. She decides to conduct a dangerous experiment...!
