    • Synopsis
    • Vince Harrington - a junior officer at the Hague Tribunal of Justice For the Former Yugoslavia - is young, ambitious, and in his own view, under-estimated. He dreams of a more exciting life and a post at The World Court.
Nikola Radin - aka the General - was a high ranking officer in the Yugoslav Federal Army. When the wars in Socialist Yugoslavia started, he resigned his post and withdrew to his ancestral village near the Adriatic sea. Losing his family, career and wealth he has found peace of mind in his native village, living the life of a recluse.
Judge D’Amici, who has served on the Tribunal for a long time, is about to finish as a Senior Judge at The Hague tribunal. Before she leaves, she wishes to complete her last assignment, a four-year trial of alleged war criminal Miro Pantic. D’Amici believes that only the General’s testimony can provide the crucial evidence to convict Pantic.
But all of D’Amici’s efforts have been stymied by the officials of Pantic’s country who repeatedly fail to extradite the General. As a final gesture before leaving, D’Amici knowing she is breaching protocol, agrees to send Vince on a mission to track down the General and bring him to the Tribunal.
The moment Vince encounters the General, a legion of armed local militias move on a manhunt. Vince and the General will run for their lives. Across the Dinara mountains and down to the Adriatic sea, they will fend off the militia while making a bond of trust, poetry and friendship.
