    • Synopsis
    • Cuban music has traditionally flirted with spicy humor. A master in channeling Cuban popular soul with fully charged lyrics reflecting the trials and contradictions of everyday life, Pedro Luis became a household name in Cuba in the 70s and 80s. Irked by his witty social commentary, in the nineties his music was banned from the state-run media —which in Cuba meant all media. Despite the government’s efforts to silence him, his songs and poetry spread from hand to hand inside and outside Cuba, which is why Pedro Luis affirms that the artist is thunder and the people are wind. This is his story.
