    • Synopsis
    • It’s a mosaic of several interrelated characters in search of their own happiness.
      We travel between one character to another, and follow their lives in an urban atmosphere of an old southern post-soviet city, with it’s own system of human relations, where everyone knows each other, and everyone has its own skeleton in the closet.
      While the story covers a 3 days of the city life - mixture of humor and grief, sensitivity and indifference, drama and comedy, the city itself becomes one of the characters. Living in this city seems to be quite okay at first glance, but in close-up it looks like living on a heeling boat.
      Nick, a 13-year-old boy has rather cold relations with his parents. His elder brother is in prison in the USA, his mother -well known TV presenter, is always away on business trips, while father spends all nights with his lover -neighbour from downstairs. Every morning father repairs a tyre of his lover’s car, because Nick constantly deflates it.
      Nick roams the city meeting his elder brother’s friends asking them the same question: ”Do you know anyone in Dublin?” He’s in love with Sally, they dream to be together. Nick’s ready to do anything for her, even to get autograph of Sally’s favorite Irish rock singer. But as it is supposed, first love never ends up happily, always there are parents to destroy the harmony.
      Gio’s beloved wife Marie gets in to the hospital after car accident. Their happy family life is ruined by one small reason -golden cross and chain found in their bedroom belongs to the colleague, who was together with Marie in the car during the accident.
      Annie, charming single woman, customs officer at the airport, sends letters abroad every single day to her lover, she hadn’t seen for a four years. Annie looks after her ailing father - photographer who is capturing each fleeting moment, the same views from the same vantage point every single day for the last 20 years.
      Brian, reporter from Dublin, plunges into an atmosphere of an unfamiliar city. He appears in Annie’s life, after coming across an interesting photo album in a shop and deciding to interview the author -Annie’s father. Love relationship is about to start between these two, but in spite of Annie’s warm feelings towards Brian, she refuses and they part.
      Mikho’s father died, a baker, known in whole neighbourhood. His wife is in grief, she mourns her beloved husband. Mikho can’t leave her and has to continue his father’s job instead of persuading his lifelong dream -to become a sailor.
      In last three days of summer each main story, together with the subsidiary ones, comes to its specific end, to a point where something new is about to start. The characters keep remembering an exceptional phenomenon when all the city fountains froze one night. The beauty of the frozen water, the unpredictable combination of its gentle lines charmed the city dwellers for a long time. Needless to say, the frozen fountains start to melt, which means life goes on.
