In transition between dictatorship and democracy, in the summer of 87/88, the ship Solana Star reaches the coast of Rio de Janeiro, and under the suspicion that it was being followed by American anti-drug Agency and the Brazilian Navy, dumped its load into the sea: 22 tons of marijuana. At mercy of the tides, more than 18,000 cans were collected in part by the Navy and the rest floated to the shores of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul and made the joy of fishermen, surfers and the local people. The high quality of the weed created the expression ‘of can’. This documentary finally uncovers the mystery that has generated so many songs and myths.
