    • Bombay, India. Shankar is a 30 years old actor. He has been captivated by Shakespeare’s work for two years. Recently, he came up with a visionary idea: he wants to stage “The Tempest” during Khumba Mela, a spiritual celebration that is the largest human gathering on Earth.
Along with his Italian girlfriend, he gathers a team of non-professional actors and tries to pass on his knowledge and passion for Shakespeare.
After a road trip of 1 500 kilometers through India they finally arrive in Kumbha Mela. It’s raining hard, the Ganges seems to be about to burst its banks, the bus gets stuck, the wind blows, it’s cold, the tents cave in but somehow everybody sticks with Shankar’s dream: they will not leave this place without staging “The Tempest”…
Between GAMES OF LOVE AND CHANCES and CAESAR MUST DIE, THE STUFF OF DREAMS tells the story of a young Indian troupe, rehearsing in ancient English the play considered to be Shakespeare’s last great work, in one of the most amazing places on Earth.
