Emilia is 17 years old and is fed up with everything that surrounds her in Buenos Aires: trivial parties, stifling noise and her paranoid sister Helena. She returns to Misiones where she was born, to find her brother after years of absence. At El Soberbio, a town located on the frontier with Brazil, Emilia stays with her aunt Ines in her mysterious and wild land where the aunt runs an inn by the border of a forest. A woman went missing there a week earlier. It is storm season and the whole town is rebelled against Ines as they believe she is withholding information. Surrounded by rumors, harassment and illegal night sweeps, Emilia discovers herself in the middle of a radical rivalry between those who believe in her aunt’s guilt and those who believe in the unexplainable – that the trees of the forest can move. Emilia gets involved with a series of unstable characters and feels erotically attracted to a woman for the first time -it’s Petra, the new messy tenant of the Inn. Soon, Emilia realizes that in this universe nobody is satisfied because nobody is complete -everybody is looking for something. As she begins to understand the inner worlds of the characters that surround her while seeking for her brother, Emilia learns to hear the silence of the others
