- Synopsis
- The Shift stars Danny Glover in a tense dramatic thriller. The story takes place during a 12 hour hospital emergency room night shift where a veteran nurse, a new nurse and their ethics are at odds. Floyd (Glover) mentors the nurses as a dying young girl comes to the ER for help. The veteran nurse believes in doing what is best for his patients, even if it means letting them die; which is at odds with the new nurse's belief in fighting for the patient until the very end, no matter what. Confronted with a girl dying from cancer, beliefs are tested and actions challenged. Floyd guides the nurses through what turns out to be the worst night of their lives and attempts to save them from the dire consequences of their actions.
