    • Synopsis
    • The Seasoning House: an unspoken spoil of a Balkan war. This is where young girls, kidnapped by soldiers and sold on to brothels, are prostituted to the military and civilians alike. In this grim and soulless place, we meet Angel (Rosie Day), a young, orphaned girl enslaved by her vicious owner VIKTOR (Kevin Howarth) to tend and care for the girls in their drug-induced stupors. Unbeknownst to her master, she moves between the walls and crawlspaces of the house – silently observing, learning and planning for her escape. Following the return of the militia responsible for the murder of her family, led by the psychotic Goran (Sean Pertwee), Angel's only friend Vanya (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) is killed during a twisted sexual attack. Angel can no longer contain her rage and sets out through both ingenuity and brutality to seek justice in this intense, horrifying exercise in stylish claustrophobia and suspense that has already gained high praise for its uncompromising originality.
