‘The rotary press' is a non-fiction short film about the
fragility of memory and the places that human
beings create to safeguard it.
People disappear, like the buildings they lived in, the
places where they worked and were happy.
Those faces and those lives were once part of the
written memory, a memory that will disappear because
nothing is forever.
What the water brings, the water takes away.

    • Synopsis
    • When the newspaper Egin, in the Basque Country ( Spain), was ordered to be closed, its facilities were relegated to abandonment. Years later and given their degradation, they could never be restored, not even when the legality of their activity was ratified. Errotatiba goes through these facilities and investigates how the marriage between the fatality of the passage of time and historical conjunctures produce scenarios of ruin. Sensitivity to decay links -as paper does when it circulates in the printing press- the organic with the industrial in a powerful and evocative succession of forms and materials.
