Retired and widowed Atilio feels useless. After a suicide attempt he is admitted to a nursing home from which he escapes to his wife's grave. Among the dead he witnesses a shooting where he discovers a bag full of money. With fellow residents of the nursing home, they fight for a better neighborhood

- Synopsis
- Retired and widowed Atilio feels useless. He thinks his time has come and tries to kill himself but even that he can't do. After his failed attempt he is diagnosed with severe depression and must be under someone's care. His daughter decides to admit him to a humble nursing home because she cannot take care of him.
  Atilio feels abandoned. The world around him distresses him and on the night of his wedding anniversary he escapes with the help of Luisina, one of the nurses, to go to his late wife's grave. That night, among the dead, fate invites him to witness a black magic ritual where, after a gunfight, a bag full of money is discovered.
  Like a modern-day Don Quixote, motivated by disillusionment, money and boredom, he connects with a group of fellow residents of the nursing home and embodies their particular struggle for a better neighborhood. Atilio rediscovers his vitality and a last chance to redeem a postponed life by using his knowledge of history to overcome difficulties and organise his 'experienced' team.
  History is written in the present tense and, in his adventure full of money, love, gunshots and madness, Atilio will discover his epic destiny.
