Velimir Bamberg lives a very lonely life. The only contact he has with the outside world is through the choral society of which he is a member. Bamberg has a sister who is ill and whom he should send to the seaside, but he does not have enough money. As a man of very strict moral principles, Bamberg does not want to do anything illegal and refuses some dubious business offered to him by his friend, Lale. So he tries to find the money elsewhere. In the search for the money he gets into many tragicomic situations and tries to achieve his ideal with the money he has borrowed from a friend. But just when his illusion of happiness has reached its zenith, he is disappointed: the “unknown girl” disappears with his money. There is nothing left for Bamberg to do, he stays where he was before and lives his dull life in the same way as he did before.
