- Synopsis
- Pietro (Michele Sarti) is a newly established director from Cagliari, in search of a producer for his next film. Naturally restless, he is going through a professional and existential crisis that ends up distancing him from his partner Camilla (Bianca Maria Lay), while constantly enduring the reprimands of his Motivator Dudo (Renzo Cugis). His contacts with the outside world are reduced to listening to the radio and a few odd and mostly random encounters: on the beach, at the supermarket, in the square, and at the bar, where he meets Rodolfo (Tiziano Polese), a world-watching customer. He is immersed in a mocking and almost surreal self-pity when he receives a call from Alessandra (Alessandra Di Pietro) from DEGW, with the proposal to make a documentary on the company's 50 years of activity, headquartered in Milan. For Pietro, it is the unexpected beginning of a rebirth. His initial resistance will give way to a gradual involvement in the company's history, which unfolds through clues and fragments in a story intertwined with the director's personal events, leading to an unpredictable understanding of his family history and his own existence: a strong bond with one of the first challenges of the design group specializing in workspaces, founded in London in 1973 by Francis Duffy, Peter Eley, Luigi Giffone, and John Worthington.
